Very fine, high end silk was used to create this stunning hourglass, bombshell of a dress from the late 1950s. The silk has an exotic sari feel to it. During this time period India was a great fascination as it opened to the Western world and you saw pieces made for he Western market made of these fine and beautiful silks. The blue is a deep sea turquoise and gold floral medallions are woven directly into the fabric. The neckline and hem are bordered in a band of gold in a more dense pattern. I love how it hugs the body and has that side slit. It is beautifully made and very light. Very sexy. Excellent condition
Fully lined in a matching tissue silk. Closes with back painted metal zipper. There is one tiny dark spot on the dress around the knee area but it is very small and does not detract - presents perfectly
